Week 9 - Cell Phone Data Use


  Cell phone data plays a crucial role in modern life, communication and access to information.

  1. Communication: Instant messaging, video calls, and social media have transformed how we connect.
  2. Information Access: Phones provide easy access to search engines, maps, news, and streaming.
  3. Work & Productivity: Tools for remote work, cloud storage, and productivity apps are key to work today.
  4. E-Commerce: Mobile shopping and payment apps make transactions simple and fast.
  5. Entertainment & Gaming: Mobile games and streaming services rely on cell phone data.
  6. Privacy & Security: Data collection and online security are key concerns with personal information stored on phones.
  7. Societal Impact: Phones affect how we socialize, our health, and cultural norms.
  8. Global Connectivity: Cell phones improve access to education, healthcare, and help in emergencies.

While they’re indispensable, cell phones also raise concerns about privacy and addiction.

Week 2 Blog Post - Computer Hardware

12/8/24 This week was great as we explored how the internal hardware of a computer functions together to enable its use. The motherboard serves as the central hub of the computer, with every component connecting to it. Each piece of hardware has a designated spot on the motherboard where it connects. The processor, often referred to as the brain of the computer, was another key topic. I learned that each motherboard is designed to work with specific processors, which have a particular pin count to ensure a proper connection. We also discussed other essential components that make up the inner workings of a computer, including RAM, the power supply, cooling fans, hard drives, the video card, audio card, and network card.
