Week 7

Week 7       Cloud computing has grown over the past decade, revolutionizing how businesses and individuals access and manage technology. It became widely adopted in the 2010s with the emergence of platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. These services offered businesses a cost effective, scalable alternative to traditional IT infrastructure. Organizations quickly realized the benefits of cloud computing, such as improved efficiency, reduced operational costs, and the ability to scale up or down based on their needs.      The COVID-19 pandemic further accelerated cloud adoption as companies sought solutions to support remote work and enhance collaboration. Tools like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Workspace became critical for maintaining business continuity. Cloud computing plays a vital role across industries, including healthcare, finance, entertainment, and e-commerce, driving innovation and powering th...

Week 6 -

Disk Defragmentation Disk defragmentation is a process that reorganizes fragmented files on a hard drive. When you save files to your computer, they are typically stored in contiguous blocks of space. However, as you delete and create files, these blocks can become scattered across the disk, leading to fragmentation. Fragmented files take longer to access, as the hard drive head must jump around to read the different pieces.  Defragmentation moves these scattered pieces back together, improving file access times and potentially increasing overall system performance. While less critical with modern solid-state drives, defragmentation can still be beneficial for traditional hard drives, especially those with a significant amount of file activity.

Computer Build Out

Week 5  Building a computer and installing a new operating system can be a challenge but also a great learning opportunity. I have built a couple computers and have only had one issue when starting up the new computer. The operating system wasn't recognizing one of the hard drives I had installed. Simply unplugging and plugging back in the hard drive from the motherboard fixed the issue. I am not sure why the operating system wasn't recognizing the hard drive but lucky for me, it was an easy fix.  I am starting to get the itch to build another computer and install Windows 11 but first I need to start gather the various parts and components needed to build the computer. I will also have to make sure the components are compatible with the Windows 11 operating system.
